AIM Consulting Bolsters Application Development Team with New Hire

DENVER, CO – March 29, 2022AIM Consulting, a leading technology consulting firm and Addison Group company, continues to grow its consulting practice in its Southwest market with new Director of Application Development, Dennis O’Connor. AIM continues to expand its footprint nationally in all of its practice areas.

Dennis O’Connor comes to AIM Consulting with over 15 years of experience building and delivering technical solutions. He has specialties in application architecture, software integrations, e-commerce solutions, project delivery, and building high-performing teams.

He earned degrees in Computer Science and Economics from Colorado State University. After graduating, O’Connor worked in a variety of industry verticals including finance, telecom, and government in development, architecture, and managerial roles. Most recently Dennis was the Director of Software Development and Delivery at Rise Broadband, where he was responsible for the overall enterprise architecture, operations and business support systems roadmap, development, support, and delivery strategies. He managed multiple teams of engineers, BI specialists, and QA personnel where he led the effort to build the first version of their e-commerce platform.

O’Connor “chose AIM Consulting for two reasons: the people and the mission.” He says, “the talent assembled at AIM is top-notch and with the entirety of the organization moving in lockstep with the purpose of delivering meaningful solutions to and developing relationships with customers was a combination that I wanted to be a part of.”

All AIM Consulting practice areas are growing and adding O’Connor to the Application Development team bolsters the practice in the southwest region. O’Connor says he’s excited to join AIM because “technology is so varied and different organizations can use the same tools in unique and innovative ways. I enjoy seeing all the techniques being deployed in the industry. Consulting affords the opportunity to be a part of that. AIM’s expertise with modern tools and practices across the App Dev, Delivery and Data/Analytics spaces positions us as suited to engage with our customers regardless of posture, bleeding edge to tried and true approaches, AIM fits.”

Vinesh Kapadia, Managing Director at AIM’s Houston Office, says, “Dennis brings a diverse software engineering background spanning development and architecture to managing large scale projects and application development teams. Dennis has a knack for asking the right questions, challenging ideas that ought to be challenged, and proactively jumping in to lend a hand. With proven experience as a leader, Dennis joins AIM in leading the application development practice out of Denver leaning on his knowledge of modern development techniques and local industry know-how.

Application Development is a growing practice in the technology industry, with more organizations realizing the value of mobile in recent years. AIM Consulting’s application development approach is team-centric and holistic, from architecture and design to modernizing software development processes and custom application development. O’Connor says he sees many trends for Application Development in 2022, “mostly continuations of previous years such as Microservices Architectures, Containerization, and Serverless computing will be on the minds of software architects for the flexibility and modularization they afford.” AIM’s Application Development practice will continue to grow with O’Connor predicting the “overall business trend of leaning into outsourcing of IT labor, which will drive demand for the consultive services AIM provides. Tight labor markets and specialization are decreasing the ROI of In-house services and make outsourcing of critical enterprise projects and/or supplemental teams a far better option for both the availability of a large pool of diverse talent and decreasing time to market.”

Founded in 2006, AIM Consulting provides industry-leading technology solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients across the United States, ranging from startups to the Fortune 500. AIM Consulting specializes in Enterprise Application Development, Data and Analytics, Cloud and Operations, Delivery Leadership, and Digital Experience and Mobile.
