Position Summary

AIM Consulting is seeking a Director, Applied AI Solutions to help lead growth across the Seattle and Denver markets. This role sits at the intersection of digital product engineering, modern application platforms, data modernization, intelligent automation, analytics, and applied AI. The position is intentionally broader than AI: this leader must be able to shape and support revenue-generating client conversations across traditional data, application, platform, cloud, automation, and modernization work, while also bringing credible, practical experience with emerging AI-enabled solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Market Growth and Revenue Generation

  • Partner with Seattle and Denver market leadership to identify, shape, and close opportunities across application modernization, product engineering, platform engineering, data modernization, analytics, automation, and applied AI.
  • Serve as a senior solution leader in client discovery, account planning, executive briefings, proposal development, estimation, and pursuit strategy.
  • Help account teams convert broad technology conversations into fundable consulting engagements, including assessments, roadmaps, MVPs, modernization programs, analytics initiatives, automation efforts, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Build repeatable offering plays that connect AIM capabilities to urgent client problems and measurable business outcomes.
  • Support expansion in existing accounts by identifying adjacent opportunities across data, applications, platforms, integration, automation, and AI readiness.

Client Advisory and Solution Strategy

  • Advise clients on practical technology strategies that may include traditional modernization, analytics, workflow automation, product platforms, cloud architecture, governance, or applied AI depending on the client need.
  • Lead discovery workshops that clarify business objectives, constraints, current-state architecture, data readiness, operational pain points, risks, and success measures.
  • Help clients prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, data and platform readiness, security, compliance, adoption needs, and delivery complexity.
  • Guide clients from ambiguous ideas to actionable roadmaps, including phased delivery plans, investment rationale, operating model considerations, and value tracking.
  • Use AI where it creates meaningful value, but avoid forcing AI into solutions where foundational data, application, process, or platform work is the better answer.

Data, Analytics, Automation and AI-Ready Foundations

  • Shape and guide data modernization efforts, including data platforms, pipelines, integration, governance, quality, reporting, analytics, and AI-ready data foundations.
  • Support modern BI, advanced analytics, predictive insights, business process automation, intelligent workflows, document intelligence, enterprise search, and knowledge management initiatives.
  • Help clients define the governance, security, responsible AI, privacy, and operating model practices required for scalable analytics and AI adoption.
  • Translate data and automation opportunities into practical delivery plans that improve decision quality, reduce manual effort, improve cycle times, and create operational leverage.

Application, Platform and Product Engineering Leadership

  • Provide senior guidance on modern application architecture, cloud-native platforms, APIs, integration, DevOps, platform engineering, quality engineering, observability, and secure delivery practices.
  • Help clients modernize legacy applications and platforms into secure, scalable, maintainable products and services.
  • Shape solutions that combine product management, UX, engineering, cloud architecture, data, integration, and automation into coherent delivery plans.
  • Promote engineering maturity practices, including delivery predictability, product-oriented teams, CI/CD, test automation, observability, and AI-assisted software delivery when appropriate.

Applied AI and Emerging Technology Enablement

  • Bring current, practical experience with generative AI, copilots, LLM-enabled applications, RAG patterns, autonomous or semi-autonomous agents, AI-assisted engineering, and intelligent automation.
  • Help clients evaluate where AI can create measurable value in 90 to 180 days and where additional data, process, application, or platform foundations are required first.
  • Shape AI-enabled offerings such as AI readiness assessments, Copilot adoption, agentic workflow pilots, knowledge management solutions, document intelligence, AI-assisted engineering modernization, and responsible AI governance.
  • Maintain a pragmatic posture: AI should be positioned as an accelerator and differentiator, not a mandatory component of every client solution.

Practice Enablement and Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a bridge between AIM solution areas, especially Digital Product Engineering & Platforms and Intelligent Data & Automation.
  • Develop client-ready sales assets, offering briefs, discovery playbooks, proposal language, workshop agendas, business case templates, and executive narratives.
  • Mentor account teams, consultants, architects, and delivery leaders on solution shaping, consultative discovery, pragmatic AI positioning, and value-based delivery.
  • Represent AIM in client workshops, partner discussions, market events, and executive briefings.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in technology consulting, digital product engineering, data and analytics, intelligent automation, cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, or solution delivery.
  • Proven ability to support revenue generation through client discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, executive presentations, estimates, and closing consulting work.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering, application modernization, product delivery, APIs, DevOps, cloud-native architecture, platform engineering, quality engineering, and secure delivery practices.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics, reporting, data governance, automation, workflow optimization, and the relationship between data readiness and higher-value digital capabilities.
  • Recent hands-on or leadership experience with applied AI, generative AI, copilots, AI-assisted delivery, intelligent agents, or AI-powered workflow automation.
  • Experience designing or delivering solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, FabrApic, Databricks, AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to communicate complex technology concepts clearly to business executives, technology leaders, sales teams, and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, facilitate discovery, build trusted client relationships, and guide stakeholders from ambiguity to actionable next steps.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment with accountability for client outcomes, delivery quality, team collaboration, and commercial success.

Success Measures

  • Shape and help close consulting opportunities across Seattle and Denver that may include data, application, platform, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled work.
  • Create 3 to 5 repeatable AIM offerings or sales plays that connect market demand to AIM delivery capabilities.
  • Support account teams in identifying entry points within strategic accounts, including non-AI modernization and AI-readiness opportunities.
  • Lead discovery workshops that convert into assessments, roadmaps, MVPs, or implementation work.
  • Improve AIM field messaging around the relationship between data readiness, application/platform modernization, automation, and applied AI.
  • Mentor sales and delivery teams on practical solution positioning, value articulation, and realistic delivery scoping.
