Cliff is a data scientist, engineer, and educator who is passionate about using data to help people think and work more effectively. Equally passionate about understanding cognitive science, Cliff views data science as a tool to develop augmented, not artificial, intelligence. He is a passionate promoter of data-driven culture, as well as an advocate for emphasizing the scientific method when designing data science projects. Just as our models and analyses can reveal how well our beliefs are supported by the data, the rigorous process of crafting theories and testing hypotheses can reveal the biases that we bring into our data and models.
Cliff has previously taught data science boot camps; built propensity, user segmentation, and natural language understanding models at Microsoft; and worked as a hedge fund quant.
